Connection and strength

A compelling circus performance in which two artists, accompanied by a drummer, explore the intimacy of movement. Hanging from one arm, they search for your hand to make their impressive tricks possible. A unique experience of connection and strength.

6 degrees of separation is the name of the theory that says you are no more than 6 handshakes away from any other person in the world. 60 degrees is approximately the angle needed to lift someone off the ground – pulling on one hand, while the other hand hangs in the aerial strap. 60 degrees of separation is the combination of both and the name of this circus performance.

About the creator
Camille Paycha creates a collective experience around the following questions: at what point does the pursuit of intimacy turn into the violence inherent in the extreme physical actions of a circus technique? When does a technical movement become intimate? With this project, Camille attempts to shift the verticality of her aerial acrobatics, both literally and figuratively, towards a more collaborative and transversal way of interacting with her environment.

FIELD was created to strengthen the bond with young talent and to give both the artists and the festival the opportunity to support people in the longer term and to make their “dreams” come true. We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.
