Pop, rock and electronica

Marieke Schenk (21) is an up-and-coming name in Dutch pop music who is attracting attention with her unique blend of catchy melodies, sharp lyrics and energetic live performances. Her sound is a fresh mix of pop, rock and electronica. Personal, quirky and full of conviction.

Following the success of her debut single Verward Persoon, which went viral on TikTok (with videos reaching 30K views) and was picked up by Apple Music and several radio stations, Marieke released her second single RADAR in the spring of 2025. An explosive, sincere song about regaining control, full of ripping guitars and a chorus that sticks in your head. With RADAR, she once again shows that she knows how to combine pop with guts and depth.

Marieke’s music is about staying true to yourself in a world full of expectations. Themes such as identity, relationships and self-acceptance are the common thread running through her work. Inspired by artists such as Pommelien Thijs, Billie Eilish and WIES, she creates a sound that is both accessible and layered. Danceable, but always with substance.

Marieke is incredibly strong live. Her performances at Eurosonic Noorderslag, Bevrijdingsfestival, Hullabaloo and FestiValderAa, among others, showed that she knows how to effortlessly touch and move her audience. In 2025, she played a successful set at the packed Vismarkt in Groningen during King’s Day, performed at Simplon and celebrated her release with an intimate afterparty.

With a growing fanbase, strong online presence and a clear artistic profile, Marieke Schenk is ready for the next step.

FIELD was created to strengthen the bond with young talent and to give both the artists and the festival the opportunity to support people in the longer term and to make their “dreams” come true. We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.
