Write your own protest song

What do you want to protest against? Or can’t you find the words? Come and experiment with words and musical styles.

As a teaser for the performance Scherven van de wereld (Shards of the World), you can get started yourself during this workshop. Together with music theatre maker Zola Westerhof, we will explore texts from the performance that you would like to protest about. We will then turn this into your own protest song.

You don’t have to be musical to participate. According to Zola, anyone can make music. Do you have an instrument you would like to bring? Of course you can!

About the creator

Zola Westerhof (she/her, Groningen 1999) is a musical theatre maker, musician, podcast maker, director, composer, producer and education maker. She would describe herself as David Bowie’s song Heroes. She is a fan of David Bowie because she thinks it’s really cool that he constantly reinvents himself and is difficult to pigeonhole.

Vermeld de titel van de voorstelling en waar je graag meer duidelijkheid over wilt hebben (is dit iets om met mijn vriend/vriendin naartoe te gaan? het is misschien wel grappig maar toch niet vulgair? dat soort vragen). De programmeurs van het festival geven je dan persoonlijk het verlossende antwoord!
