Musical and energetic theatre version of spectacular literary debut.
The performance Confrontaties is an explosive, musical and heart-wrenching story based on the award-winning book of the same name by Simone Atangana Bekono (Best Book for Young Adults 2021). In this fiery play, Sharlee Daantje plays the teenager Salomé, who re-enacts her life together with four fellow inmates.
Sixteen-year-old Salomé is in a youth prison for assaulting two classmates. She is angry and confused. Between her fellow inmates and an irritating psychologist, she tries to keep a cool head. But thoughts of her parents and sister and all the things they have been through together race through her mind. Chaos in her head, caused by her experiences in prison, what happened before and where she will return to soon. Because how does it feel to not really belong anywhere or to be different?
