Wolf Children
In Howl Baby Howl, Judith Engelen & Ika Schwander show a world in which children grow up under atypical circumstances.
Ika and Judith connect the story of the wolf children Romulus and Remus with the challenges faced by KOPP and KOAP children.
‘KOPP’ and “KOAP” stand for “Children of Parents with Psychological Problems” and “Children of Parents with an Addiction Problem” respectively. Both Romulus and Remus and KOPP and KOAP children highlight the social and political aspects of care and remain unnoticed in society.
For this performance, Ika and Judith are collaborating with the Medical Social Care Centre (MSOC) in Flemish Brabant. The MSOC wants to work with parents who use substances to reduce the risks to their children.
