This performance cannot be summed up in a single word…
Is it a concert? A song programme? A musical theatre performance? A poetic indie non-opera? One thing is certain: this new project by the Young Writers cannot be summed up in a single word. Four Young Writers between the ages of 15 and 18 each wrote a number of protest songs. They put into words the things that make them angry, that frighten them or that they want to change. About the right to be who you are, about the life of a boy who completely derails because he has no home of his own. About a woman who wants to be a man for one day. About racism and what it does to a young life. And much more.
Their words are given powerful musical form by a four-piece professional band. A raw, honest and compelling production in which the young protest voice sounds loud and clear!
