A solo performance with humour and heartbreak.

‘For Rosa‘ is based on the true story of Benjamin and Rosa. A solo performance with equal parts humour and heartbreak, love and anger, tender playfulness and profound relevance. A story about climate loyalty and climate activism. A story about and for the future.

Rosa was the young climate activist who drowned in the Ourthe during the floods of 2021 and could not be saved, not even by Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts, the 14-year-old boy who had just met Rosa and jumped in after her.

At that moment, he was unable to save her. After her tragic death, it became his life’s mission to try to save what could still be saved from the world, just as Rosa had wanted to do…

Benjamin has already succeeded in having 15 July declared European Day of Remembrance for Climate Victims.

And his fight for #climatejusticeforROSA is far from over.

About the creators
Nic Balthazar discovered Felix at a very young age and cast him to play Koen De Graeve’s son in “Tot Altijd” (Ensor for best film 2013). He then went on to play young roles in “Labyrintus” and “De Ronde”. This year, he graduated as an actor from the Rits with the brilliant monologue “Het Nijlpaard” (The Hippopotamus), which was immediately selected for Theater Aan Zee. Felix plays leading roles in the upcoming Ketnet series “De raad van Soekie” (Soekie’s Council) and “Splinter”. This is a star of/for the future. We would stake our reputation on it.

FIELD was created to strengthen the bond with young talent and to give both the artists and the festival the opportunity to support people in the longer term and to make their “dreams” come true. We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.
