What do you do when the monotony of life suffocates you?
In the physical, raw NOTHING HAPPENS HERE, Sam Verhaeren explores how boredom turns into a destructive urge.
Sam grew up in a small village. Every now and then, there would be a strange outburst of violence. For instance, a boy ran over dozens of chickens whilst filming himself, and someone drove into the village pub. Sam, too, was not immune to this behaviour. Looking back on it now, he increasingly sees the link between boredom and these outbursts of violence.
A performance for those who get behind the wheel after inhaling nitrous oxide from balloons, for those who drink themselves into a coma, and for those who don’t know what to do with their lives. In this wordless performance, De Een & De Ander tackle hopelessness by seeking out danger.
