Dance your heart out to these beats
In this rousing choreography, nine young people come together, each with their own unique strengths and vulnerabilities. They dance their hearts out to the beats of multi-instrumentalist Dijf Sanders. Gradually, new forms of movement, new bodies and new norms emerge. Repeatclub is about the driving force of a group and about finding freedom within your own limits.
“Despite all our differences, we are all human beings. And anyone who wants to can dance (or at least move to the music).” – Ellen Maerevoet, VRT NWS
Choreographer Danaé Bosman danced with fABULEUS in the acclaimed dance production ZOO doen ze de dingen (a co-production with hetpaleis). In recent years, she has created various dance productions for young audiences at venues including LAP, Theater De Spiegel and FroeFroe, amongst which was ON- (FroeFroe, 2023), a piece featuring dancer Miguel Do Vale and actor/dancer Sander Deckx, who uses a wheelchair. In Repeatclub, Danaé explores how, through repetition and collaboration, we can find a shared rhythm, just like a flock of birds moving through the air in natural harmony.
Repeatclub explores how we can move collectively and demonstrates how music and dance can build bridges between people, regardless of their background or physical abilities.
