When are you a rascal and when a criminal? Where are the limits of actually doing something wrong?

And once you’ve crossed that line, can you go back? Can you foresee the consequences of a mistake? And who decides how bad it is? Is that a judge, your teacher, or your mother or father, your friends or yourself? What is the difference between community service and behind bars?

STRAF is a performance about young people doing community service. Participating in the performance is community service for these young people, because BonteHond has officially been a community service location since 2021. The script, scenery and role division is determined together with the young people. They tell their own story in their own way.

A performance about searching for boundaries and crossing them. About consequences and impact. About judgments of others and yourself. About a second chance. A compelling authentic story about and by young people with community service.

FIELD was created to strengthen the bond with young talent and to give both the artists and the festival the opportunity to support people in the longer term and to make their “dreams” come true. We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.
