Between Hemel and Dorpsplein is a dreamy and exciting musical theatre performance.
Femke Stasse goes in search of the fairy-tale character Psyche within herself.
In a series of songs, personal stories and fabulous passages from Louis Couperus’ original book, a portrait emerges of a young woman who is always searching for the end of the horizon and loses herself in that eternal adventure.
As a young, tough and unpredictable woman, Femke will stand opposite the girl with wings from 1898 in 2025. To see what story emerges in the space between them.
Femke: ‘The story of Psyche confronts me with my search for what “femininity” means to me. With this performance, I explore that subject and ask myself what it means to lose myself as a woman in an ideal.’
