I NEED SPACE

Homebase, two parents who live on their own little islands in the same living room. And a daughter who swims between those two islands and is in danger of drowning. She is searching for the glue that binds them together. A theatrical reading of a semi-autobiographical, comical, intergalactic family drama that combines sci-fi, Rastafarianism and the world of emotions. The only way out is in, resistance is futile…

About track 2 of De Schrijversstudio
In this track, three talents who have already taken some steps in the theatre field receive guidance in their further development as stage writers and in writing a 60-minute play. In addition to the individual programmes, they will discuss each other’s work with the other participants and their mentors and reflect on the theatrical readings of their texts, which will take place here at Bellevue, but also at the Jonge Harten Festival (2025) and Festival Cement (2026).
