The theme of Jonge Harten 2022 is disarmament. Arming ourselves, we all do it from time to time.
But why and when? And do we realize it ourselves? For Jonge Harten, Sebastiaan portrayed young people who are each disarming in their own way, and then asked them the question, “𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆?”
𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮: ”I am conflict-avoiding by nature, but also very curious. It kind of depends on the situation how I act. If I’m one-on-one with someone, I’m more likely to keep my opinions to myself and pretend otherwise. In a group, it’s different: then I can behave a bit like a spy, staying in the background. Unless it goes against values such as feminism, for example, which is very important to me. Then I go full-on against it.”
