Come dance with us Dabke!

Inspired by a request from dance company De Dansers to learn more about folk dance, Jonge Harten invited Bab Ad-Daar to teach the Dabke live. Bab Ad-Daar (meaning “The door is always open”) is a community of over 150 newcomers who rehearse together, create performances and develop theatrical participation programs to accompany NITE and Club Guy & Roni performances.

Dabke is a uplifting and popular round dance known especially in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine. But also in the Netherlands dabke is going strong. Do you want to learn? Anyone can do it. During this evening DJ Ash will provide the musical accompaniment to teach the Dancers the Dabke together with you! Come dance with us.

FIELD was created to strengthen the bond with young talent and to give both the artists and the festival the opportunity to support people in the longer term and to make their “dreams” come true. We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.

Vermeld de titel van de voorstelling en waar je graag meer duidelijkheid over wilt hebben (is dit iets om met mijn vriend/vriendin naartoe te gaan? het is misschien wel grappig maar toch niet vulgair? dat soort vragen). De programmeurs van het festival geven je dan persoonlijk het verlossende antwoord!
