Contr (a / o) vers (e / u) s (2019) is the metamorphosis of a character who is on a journey. One that is radical, intense, yet hopeful and tender. The character remembers, that when she’s in the shadows, there must be light.

In this piece for dance- theatre, topics of freedom, identity, and belief are challenged through instinctive movement and behaviour. The delicate towers of identity that make up an individual, exist in an equilibrium between emancipation and incarceration, between the painting of the individual and the uniform. We risk the danger of piling too high, whilst dancing atop these swaying ivory towers. This performance is a transformation from delicate to dangerous.

We focus in particular on students who we feel (after conversations and performances) connect themselves as creators with the world beyond. In a conscious, critical and idiosyncratic way.
